Well, I’ve been on broadband at home for almost 6 years now, and so far I’ve had no real bad experience, except for Telkom taking 2 month to install my line when I moved to Pretoria.
I’ve been at a couple of ISPs in this time, and moved around quite abit:
- Datapro
- This was my first provider, and probably the I stayed with the longest, think I stayed with them for almost 3 years. At this time I ran my own business and was online the whole day. I had a 512 line. Basic impression: VERY GOOD QUALITY - PRICE BIT HIGH
- Web Africa
- I actually moved to WebAfrica after we got some hosted servers for them and I did not work from home anymore, I downgraded my line to a 384 one as I don’t need the thick pipe anymore. Very good service!
- Cybersmart
- ‘m currently with Cybersmart, almost 2 months now, and I must say I’m very impressed with the price and packages they provide.
- I have not seen such innovative products at other providers yet!
- Products like their Giggy banks and Night rider make it useful to select what you want according to your needs.
- I also like the pricing structures of R125 for a 384 line and it increases as your pipes’ width increases.
So far I’m impressed with their product, although I reckon not at the same standard as Datapro or WebAfrica (or is it, how can we really know), but the pricing is really good and for normal web users it is perfect!
