End Poverty - Be the Generation Selling some domains

I don’t have any respect left for cyclists anymore.

This morning, and a few other occurances, whilst driving to work, I see quite a lot of cyclists cycling on the roads on my way to Hyde Park around 5h30 in the mornings.

I’ve actually got a few grievances with them, and some of them could be isolated incidents:

  • Coming up to a red robot for this one egg-headed dude, he just plainly rushed through the red robot at real high speed, there was a car coming towards the crossing, for which the robot was green, and had to brake hard cause of this idiot.
  • Yes, drive on the left hand side, in SINGLE file(why do you have to cycle next to each other, and even up to five next to each other), this is especially irritating when your in a single lane, and cannot pass the poor tired individuals one their bikes, because they are taking up the whole lane for themselves.  If they just could understand that if they rode after each other it would be safer for them and other road users.
  • So, sometimes you get cyclists who cycle almost 1-1.5m from the curb, okay, I get it, debri on the road can harm your tires….get a freaking mountain bike(jokingly)… according to some articles I’ve read about “Rules of the Road”, just temporarily go over to the middle line(again - keep it single file guys ;-) ) and when the curb side is better, just move over again when it’s safe.Cyclists

I think that alot of education needs to be done on both vehicle drivers and cyclists on what the road rules are for cyclists(and especially cyclists in South Africa), if anybody reading this knows of any “Rules” or “Guidelines” published somewhere, please share.  Also please comment on this if you’d like.

Not a South African website, but still a good guideline for cyclists.
