On Monday I was sitting at home watching an episode of Surface, and my eye caught a book that Cindy bought about a year ago over Amazon.
Some strange force attracted me to walk over to the book case and pick up the book. I start reading the backside description :
James Frey wakes up on a plane, with no memory of the preceding two weeks. He has abused alcohol drugs for a decade - and he is aged only 23. His family takes him to a rehabilitation centre. And James Frey starts his perilous journey back to the world of the drug and alcohol-free living.
mmm, sounds interesting.
The books name is “A Million Little Pieces” by James Frey.
I’m not really a book reader, and never was, but I guess I’m probably getting older and maybe this is what I lack in my life, abit of relaxing reading.
So on Monday evening I run through the first 50 pages of the 400+ page book. The author James Frey has a real different way writing, short and sweet, the first few chapters are only 2-3 pages each. The method of writing is also cool, using alot of repitition to get a thought across like :”It is getting dark….It is getting dark” when he is blacking out, a method of getting his mindset at the time across. This gives excellent insight into the mind of an addict(drug, alcohol etc.)
I’m still not finished but find it a book that I still cannot put down very easily, especially for the fact that I don’t really read alot.
