Another busy week - My Lif(v)e Update Programming Matrix

I’m not sure if it has always been this way, but littering in South Africa according to me has really increased lately.  Before we had the shopping bags lying around the whole South Africa(national flower of SA) until we had to pay for it, then it changed.

Yesterday afternoon I walked(yes, I did) to our local cafe about 3 blocks up our street to go buy a few goodies for our Saturday afternoon, and I was just disgusted with all the rubbish lying around the streets.  One thing in particularly caught my eyes, BEER BOTTLES !!! Seems like after the rugby people just throw the bottles out of the window, or when the “cool dudes” in varsity sit and drink out of their car, they just leave the bottles behind.

My house is on a corner of two streets, and it is amazing how many sigarette buds and chip papers I find on the paving on a regular basis.  This probably is also some of the school children passing around the corner as well.

This morning I quickly drove to the other side of town to pick up some goodies for our Sunday big lunch(granny is turning 80) and what do I find in some of the streets…. BEER BOTTLES thrown on the road.  Also alot of rubbish.

Has the South African public had a moral shift, as it seems no-one cleans after themselves, everybody just throws down their rubbish and expect someone else to pickup after them. If each person just clean up behind themselves what a pleasure it would be and also give the non-functioning municipalities one less thing that they need to put on their “when we feel like it TO-DO” list .
