Last night was our company’s Year End function. Eventually got in bed around 1 this morning, some of the guys even a few hours later… office was totally deserted this morning.

Wow, at last got a dive in, the first since 24 February 07.
When logging my dive yesterday I realised with a shock that my previous dive was only in February this year… wow.

On Friday afternoon Cindy and myself visited Die Werf restaurant on the Eastern side of Pretoria nestled within Faerie Glen. With a touch of nature and a traditional flavour of and old farm house(Plaashuis). The smell of old wood and a unique mix of food smells and nature just sets the mood for a relaxing meal and a lovely way to end the week.
We sat on their deck overlooking large tress which come up right past you into the blue skies.
A tradition I always do is ask the waiters what they would personally recommend, as they are the ones eating the food everyday for lunch or getting feedback from clients.
Our waiting, a very friendly chap, suggested we take the “Bord kos”(A plate of food). A very straight forward name, but very nice indeed, just a nice light meal for a Friday afternoon, for R29 you get a Pork espetada wrapped in bacon, served with a very nice sauce and two vegetables.
I was quite impressed with the price of this as I expected paying ridiculous prices as Die Werf is quite well known around the area.
We would have given this restaurant a rating of 9/10 but due to them not having Orange Juice in stock we’ll give them an 8/10.
I would suggest anyone looking for a unique dinner experience to visit Die Werf in Pretoria.
The past weekend me and Cindy decided to go away for the weekend just to get away from it all.
We started off our weekend in Krugersdorp around 14h00 after we went to the giny for the latest scan, and after not being able to see if it is a boy or a girl we headed for Pretoria, where we stopped for a very nice boere lunch at Die Werf .
After lunch we headed to our weekend accomdation about 25 minutes north of Pretoria where we stayed in the Impala Luxury Tent at Tamboti Lodge.
Very nice bush getaway, a first luxury bush outing of this price(not quality though).
On Friday evening we were surprised by a massive high veld storm where our tent got abit ripped apart at the back so we had to move into a normal room for the night.
Reviews of our accomadation and the place can be found on my blog as well.
