Thought I’ll give some background for the guys that don’t know what this is about.

Firstly, let me define what BPM means ???

BPM is a management practice or discipline that employs methods, policies, methics and software tools to manage and optimise processes and activities for enhanced agility and productivity. - Michael Melenovsky, Gartner Research

The aim of the congres in South Africa is to provide the attendees with an industry wide perspective on the value derived from BPM with both local and international case studies.

I work for a company called DVT, which is one of 2 major Metastorm partners here in South Africa(Other one is BTG). Metastorm is th’e Breakaway BPM suite currently on the market providing Roundtrip BPM solutions.

Today we manned the stand in conjunction with the Bytes consultants with us. Was quite a nice day, and learnt alot, just not from our collegues(”or enemies “) and also from prospective clients and their requirements.

Metastorm recently(about 3 weeks ago) made an acqusition of a company/product called Provision, this is the number #1 Enterprise Architecture and BPA product on the market today. With this new product in the Metastorm camp, could make this the most desired product for enterprises today. I will post abit later about the more technical details.

Yesterday I met 3 of the guys that are here in South Africa from Metastorm for the BPM Congress .

This morning I’m off to the BPM Congress at Gallagher estates, we are manning the Metastorm stand there, and just “networking” abit with some of the players in this arena.
