CLIP me

Uncategorized Add comments

I’ve been with Cell C(Cellphone network in South Africa) for two and something years.

Since yesterday, everytime someone phones me, I cannot see the number they are phoning from, and I don’t like picking up the phone when I don’t know who it is … maybe it’s a stalker or an ex-client trying to get back at me for screwing up their system (jokingly).

I phoned Cell C and they said most probably my CLIP is disabled(not charged for), but they cannot tell me exactly as I am doing my contract through AutoPage and they do not have access to the information directly.

So I phoned autopage(on a 0860 number, so its not FREE). After about 10 minutes I get through to a support person. He tells me my CLIP is not enabled, BUT WHY O WHY now, after two and something years does it take effect, and I didn’t ask it to be disabled !!!

Furious, I friendly asked the support person to please enable it for me.

No, sorry sir, the person in whose name the account is registered must phone in and request the changes.

The reason for this is my mother initially purchased the contract on her name when I was still studying but lately I changed everything to my name, or so I thought, the money did go from my Credit Card but it seems the account holder is not me… eish(south african lingo)…

So now I must get my mom, who lives a town away to phone Cell C(oh no Autopage) to rectify this… aargghh.
